Purpose of this Course

 

This course, delivered as a series of group and individual webinars, and a face-to-face full day in company training session, will give candidates a strong understanding of the complex process of delivering a construction project from inception to completion, with a strong emphasis on how to identify and mitigate risk throughout the process to ensure achievable project deliverables

The course will give all construction professionals a thorough understanding of the impact of their decisions upstream and downstream of their roles, and demonstrate the importance of collaboration throughout the project delivery, with a particular emphasis on the importance of the operational and commercial teams working closely together as a combined project delivery team to ensure timely completion while ensuring profit margins are maximised.

 

Who is this Course suitable for?

 

This course will benefit a wide range of construction professionals including owners of small to medium sized construction companies and sub-contract businesses, and the management staff of larger organizations such as QS’s, commercial managers, contracts managers and project managers. This course would also greatly benefit clients by giving them a full 360 degree overview of the complex mechanics of delivering a construction contract.

The course will consist of 5 90 minute group webinars, 3 virtual 1-2-personal training sessions, and a final full day in-person bespoke 1-2-1 training session from Jonathan targeting specific areas agreed in advance with the candidate.

Who will be tutoring me?

Jonathan Payne FCIOB

With over 30 years construction experience, Jonathan Payne is a renowned professional within the construction industry and is the Founder and Managing Director of Incrementum, a specialised construction consultancy company. Previously the co-founder of Corramore Construction Ltd, which under his tenure as Managing Director for 19 years, grew to have an annual turnover in excess of £25 million. After selling his shareholding in this venture, he was then appointed as Managing Director of Mascott Construction (Europe) Ltd for over 4 years, which under his leadership, grew significantly to a turnover of circa £25 million.

Along with a degree in Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics, Jonathan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) as well as being a Chartered Construction Manager. Jonathan holds the prestigious position of Vice-Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) in Northern Ireland, as well as being a Board Member of the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) for Northern Ireland.

Jonathan will draw on his personal firsthand experiences within the construction industry to deliver this course, giving candidates a unique insight of a project from inception to completion.
