TechCIOB Mentoring

Course Overview

Technical Membership (TechCIOB) recognises professionals with specialist technical expertise in construction who may struggle to gain recognition for their competence and experience. This credential gives you the right to add

TechCIOB after your name, which employers and organisations worldwide respect. This empowers specialists to

promote their achievements via a globally recognised certification and post-nominals. This membership grade is

designed to recognise and support individuals who excel in specific technical roles.

Who Is Eligible?

To be eligible candidates must have a level 4 or 5 qualification (for example, NVQ4, BTEC), or Level 6 Diploma in Fire Safety and 3 years of experience working in a technical role; or a level 3 qualification and 5 years of experience.

Typical roles include CAD Designer, Site Supervisor, Retrofit Co-ordinator, Repairs Officer and Fire Risk Assessor.

Note: Other Level 6 qualifications may be eligible for the MCIOB route.

Why is this topic important?

It’s essential everyone in the industry is exposed to this new legislation and understands their legal responsibilities (and an awareness of consequences) within the act to contribute toward the provision of safer spaces, whilst demonstrating buildings have been built safely.

How is it delivered?

TechCIOB candidates are assisted via video conference

(Teams) tutorials.

Who will be tutoring me?

TechCIOB candidates will be allocated one of our in-house team of experienced membership mentors and assessors.

What Happens After the Course?

A TLMS accredited assessor will assess the application and make a recommendation to CIOB, when the required standard has been met. The assessment process takes around 6 weeks.
